Sierra Forever Families is a private, non-profit agency that focuses on finding and nurturing permanent homes for children. It was founded in 1983 by adoptive parents who saw that traditional adoption procedures stood in the way of placement of many children. Today, the agency has placed over 2,000 children in permanent homes and helped hundreds more reunify with their birth families. Sierra believes that every child deserves a loving home. Sierra serves children considered more difficult to place, and has become known for advocating and finding homes for older children and large sibling groups.

At Sierra, there is no charge to adopt a child waiting in long-term foster care. Our placement services include:
  • Family recruitment
  • Matching of children with families
  • Homestudy preparation
  • Parent training classes
  • Therapeutic services (during and after placement)

Sierra Forever Families is a California Non-Profit Public Benefit Corporation governed by its Board of Directors.
